After a heavy rain I discovered that I need to change the grading of my property. Unfortunately my clapboard ends only a few inches from the ground at the top of the foundation. It appears that I will need to remove a few of the boards, waterproof somehow and then backfill. Any suggestions on how to go about this job?

You will be much better off if you escavate and put down drain tile.

Note: wood siding should be at least 6" from soil.
