I am finishing a basement in an older (1925) home. In a particular area where I'm building a closet the ceiling is low, and therefore the framed in area for the closet doors is only about 73 inches high. Does anyone make a bifold door that will fit that height? Can I just cut down one of the standard 80inch doors? Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

No reson you couldn't cut it down. It would have to be done using a solid door rather than a hollow core door. You would also have to re-drill the hole that the bottom of the door for the post that goes there.

I have a similar problem and have already purchased the hollow type bifolds. I am going to cut off about 4 inches and take out the solid piece of wood at the top, remove some of the cardboard filler and replace the wood piece at the end. Helpfull advise I learned; use a fine toothed saw and cover with tape before cutting to avoid ripping the wood.
