I received a quote for four new 27x54 Walsh vinyl windows -- double hung, full screen, low-E, lifetime manufacturer warranty -- for $1400. They have a welded sash & frame. But, I could save $120 if I went with the mechanical. What's the difference and is it worth the money? Or, am I paying too much to begin with?

Go with the mechanical. I like them better, the welded is a gimmick.
