The drywall in one corner of my bedroom has started to turn black and damp with mildew. What has caused this and is there any way I can repair the wall without replacing it??
Thanks!
Thanks!

Check for water leaks. Pipes, overflowing gutters, rain penetrating your siding or windows.
I also saw this once in the winter. The vapor barrier was damaged in a closet on the outside wall. There may have been a varmint in the wall doing some chewing and arranging insulation. There was a cold spot there so the warm inside air condensed on that spot and a patch of mildew formed.
You would then want to cut out this portion, inspect inside the wall, correct deficiencies and then install a new section of drywall.
