We have a cement basement shower that leaks around the entire floor of the shower(it sets up higher than the floor). The cement has seperated around the edges. It had been caulked with silicone sealer and painted. We have removed the paint and the sealer (which was not working anyway) and now we need to know how to repair the leaking around the bottom.
Do we need to repair with cement?

I just broke one of these out of my basement in prepartion for installing a new base. Mine was just small- not falling apart. For serious structural problems (big cracks) use the cement and get some good concrete/tile sealer. If that does not work, think about replacement.
