Can I use foam peanuts inside interior wall between bedrooms for sound insulation? Currently there is no insulation between these 2x4 walls at all. I need a low cost way of insulating between these walls.

I do not believe this is a good idea.
Although polystyrene beads have been manufactured for use as insulation, I do not feel comfortable with this material. The foremost reason is flamability.
I do believe most areas have strict codes governing its installation (you should check with yours).

Thanks for your reply. I decided to go with soundproofing board/insulation. Didn't want to risk flammability.
Still don't know what to do with the peanuts but will recycle them someother way.:)
