I am installing new ceramic tile flooring in a dining room that has 1 exterior door. With the subfloor, concrete backerboard and tile, the floor is now too high for the door to open. How do I raise the door? The door has about 3/4 inch gap between jamb and frame only. This will allow enough room to open it but there will be no extra space at the top between the jamb and frame.

If it's a wood door, you can trim off the bottom and install an adjustable weatherproof sweep at the bottom of the door.
A door should clear a floor about 1/2" (or a bit more possibly if you have a stationary mat).
Have you removed the trim around the frame to see if there is any way to raise the whole (pre-hung?) door assembly up to the framing across the top?
