We are adding a new familyroom in our basement. We are going to use a suspended ceiling using wood grids. We want to use wallboard cut into 2x4 lenghts and paint them to match our wall color. Will the panels sag over time? We want it to look nice as this is a diy project my husband is undertaking. He build our free standing stairs himself and so he is a diy person. Thanks:rolleyes:

I don't think 1/2 inch would sag. Use 5/8 to be certain. That definitely won't sag. If its a cool dry environment you will be fine.

while your in the planning stages you might consider changing the size of the boards to eliminate the tapered edges which may show up in the grid....
