Hi,

I currently have what I think (almost sure) is Moen model 2739 Chateau bath shower kit. I am in the process of remodeling and would like to go to Monticello or Villeta (or something similar in form and function; lever instead of knob) without having to replace the valve in the wall. What do I need to purchase to accomplish that?

My questions are"

1. Is it possible to replace the current stuff with any other manufacturer's products?
2. If I need to stay with Moen because of my desire to not replace the valve, what are my options?

Thanks

Since the post, I have gotten an answer from Moen. The only question remaining is regarding being able to use the Moen valve with another manufacturer's "stuff." Any info. will be greatly appreciated.

We did 2 bathrooms in the past 2 years. That's what we learned: we put in 1 Moen in-wall system in one bath and was told we have to use Moen trim (the on/off and temp adjust thing) to go with it, but can use different shower head. We like the way Moen works but they are not goodlooking. So the other bath we use all Grohe product. From what I know, these two products have very different connections and they are not inter-changable. Hope that helps.
