I want to put a clear opaque vinyl covering on the upholstered part of my dining room chairs to prevent cat hair getting into the weave.

I know how to do the seat pad but I am stumped with the part that your back leans against. It is a small panel about 16 x 8. The chair is open from the bottom of this panel down to the seat. The back panel is slightly curved.

The seat comes out and can be covered easily but the back panel doesn't seem moveable.

Perhaps making a slipcover for the back of the chairs might be more successful. These could be easily removed when company comes. The slipcovers would not necessarily have to be made from the viny, but from a fabric that could be washed.
