I NEED A PROFESSIONAL CARPET INSTALLER TO TELL ME THE METHOD FOR JOINING TWO CARPETS USEING THE HEAT ACTIVATED TAPE. I'M HAVING NO SUCCESS ATTEMPTING THE PROCESS AND I'M MELTING THE RUG A BIT. NEED TO FINISH THE JOB (IN MY OWN HOME) AND WILL NEVER ATTEMPT IT AGAIN.

If you have melted the backing, the carpet is ruined at the seam edge.

Seaming carpet is an art form. Some carpets won't seam with thermoplastic hot melt tape and an iron. If your not getting it to stick, then it most likely is not meant to be seamed that way. Some carpets must be hand sewn only! Some urethane backings must use a urethane tape.

Good luck!
