Hello,
Sometime this summer I am looking at remodelling with new construction type windows. I have gotten several quotes from window manufacturers. I have settled on Certainteed newcastle type windows. The estimate came in at $4500 for 11 average windows and 1 large bay window and all the interior oak trim. Does anyone have any experience with double hung certainteeds? Is this a reasonable price? It includes lowe, argon and some windows with muntins in between the glass.
Thanks in advance.

The 11 "average" windows should run in the $250-$275 range with LowE and the colonial grid.....A large bay will run $1500 to $2000 installed, so your estimate is in the reasonable range in my opinion......and if that includes new oak trim on all of them, it is VERY REASONABLE !!....( can you say CHEAP :) )

I have to agree with Andy -- that bay window ALONE should be about 1/2 of what you were quoted. But, you have given us no dimensions. What you call "average", I might call "puny", and Andy might call "huge". (Or vica versa!!)
