A jig saw is only one of the tools you will need to install the laminate. i recomend using a fine tough when cutting so as not to mar the laminate and you will get a smooth cut try www.woodfloorsonline.com for more info

Each laminate manufacturer tends to have their own specific installation instructions. Read and follow carefully to maintain product warranties. Typically, a jamb saw is required for undercutting. A power table saw or power circular and saber saw are helpful. It is best that floor covering product is not installed in the area where it is being installed. If product finish contains aluminum oxide, the aluminum oxide particles can scratch the finish.
You will need to properly acclimate your product to temperature and humidity in room(s) where product will be installed so that it can adjust to the temperature and humidity of the home. HVAC system should be running and temperature and humidity at occupancy levels. Subfloor preparation requirements are important to a successful installation. Follow manufacturer's instructions carefully for layout and installation instructions. There are usually special instructions if installing in a room where the product may be exposed to water. A template is helpful if installing along irregular shaped areas such as stone hearths.
