Our house is a 1973, and started settling a lot last year. Now a big crack has appeared in our kitchen floor. Its about 2" in spots and has broke thru what im sure is the original vinyl. My question is how does that cement to repair work? Do we have to float the floor to get it ready to put down new tile? And if that liquid concrete does not work, could someone recommend something that does. Im tired of stubbing my toe on the crack...:) Thanks in advance.

STOP!!!!

You need some foundation repair before you waste any money on flooring. 2" wide split is major! What's stopping it from being 4" in a year?
