I want to work on a project at home on installing pillars or pedestals that appear that are built in to an opening between the kitchen and dining room but I want to make my own pillars or pedestals, on a budget.
Is there an easy inexpensive way to create something like that?

Maybe you could use this site and make it the height you want. It would cost a fraction of what stone would cost.

Hi,
We always considered a pillar to go between two points,
( floor to ceiling ) and a pedestal to somewhere in between, and on which an object can be placed, or more than one used and a top placed on them. Are you wanting to use both? About what width or diameter are you thinking about? ( you'll want to keep it in porportion to your rooms and opening ) Are you wanting to paint them, stain them or faux finish them? Post us somemore info.
