I would like to build a hamper from scrap wood and material. Does anyone have a design or know how?

How much scrap wood do you have?
Basically build a box w/ a lid on top and a piano hinge.
You can also do some interesting designs/carvings on the box as well.

I have some ply wood left over. But what I was thinking was more like the foldable hamper with canvas bag attached to it. I am not sure what I need to put in the middle of the legs so it moves and folds. Please see attached picture

Sorry, can't see the picture.
But if I'm guessing right on what you want to do is to have Xs on each side as legs.
You can use a pivot hinge:

Or use a dowel.

Thank you. I am still confused how the dowel would work? How is it attached so it can open and fold? I am new to woodworking

The dowel would act like the pivot hinge. Basically drill a hole in the center of where the X cross and stick the dowel in flush on both sides of the X. Then do the same for the other X. Then connect the right and left X together at the tips.
