Howdy all! I'm about to take a trip back home to fix up my mom's house. One thing that'll dfinitely need to be done is replace the screens on her screen doors.
I know there's a moulding that'll have to be popped off. Then I buy screen at Home Depot - cut it to size - then staple gun it into place.

Here're my questions:

Is there any particular KIND of screen material I should buy? Wire, polyester, nylon - does one work better than the other, last longer, etc?

And - most important of all. . .

What's the best way, best method to staple this stuff into place? So that it'll be smooth, no wrinkles. I KNOW there's got to be a method such as 'staple the corners first - then the centers - then work my way OUT toward the corners' (I'm guessing - can you tell?)

All help and guidance is appreciated.

Thanks,
DRMartin

PS: Actually, any and all pointers on the entire process would be welcomed.

The black plastic screen wire (vinyl, I think) is easy to work with.
Lay the screen doors out on a sheet of plywood on sawhorses, put 2X4s under the top and bottom, and clamp the middle down to the plywood to create a slight bow in the screen door.
Staple the top and bottom tightly, and then release the clamps. Should stretch the screen tight. Pull the sides out and staple them next. Attach the molding strips.
Good luck!

If you would rather work with the door in place then remove the moldings......Staple the top......Staple the bottom of the screen which was left a foot longer to a two by four...have a helper pull on the two by or it's own wieght may be sufficient and staple the bottom...side/side and attach the moldings.....Leave the screen wider than the width of the door and carefully trim it after it is stapled..........................If has pets then purchase aluminum or a pet resistant screen....claws will puncture fiberglass (nylon) easily.....
