I have pastic shudders on my house now that do not have louvers and I am wanting to get new ones that do have louvers. I cannot seem to find wooden shudders. Do they still make them or am I better off jst buying plastic ones. I know plastic will last longer but I like the looks of wooden ones. If they do make wooden ones any suggestions of where I can find them?

Thanks,
senna

Yes, they still make wooden shutters, but they're more expensive than plastic shutters.
You would be better off maintenance-wise using plastic louvered shutters with wood grain. If you can't find them in the color you want, you can paint them, too.
Good Luck!
Mike

Thanks OldGuy,
I figured maintence would be much less with plastic. I just like the wooden ones better. Figures they are more expensive too. :)

I don't like the word "plastic" when it comes to shutters. There is a big difference between plastic and vinyl. Plastic shutters are a thing of the past. Vinyl shutters come with or without louvers and are a good solid product if you shop for quality. Alside Co. has a good vinyl shutter and I'm sure others make comparable product. Maintenance on the vinyl is zero compared to wood and paint.
