I am installing new hardwood flooring next to existing hardwood floors.
1) When sanding and sealing, what is the best way to blend the new with the existing floor? ( i.e. what grid(s) of sand paper and how far should I overlap sanding and sealing?) I'm just using "natural" polyurathane and no stain)

2) What is the correct nail (Ribbed or not?) for face nailing and what schedule?

3) What do you recommend as wood filler for red oak?

4) When sanding the perimeter of the floor, is an orbital sander and hand sanding OK, or do you need a belt sander of sort?

5) Water based or oil based polyurathane?

Thanks a lot!
