Howdy, I am presently considering laying 3/4" hardwood ontop of 3/4" plywood with the correct moisture barrier between the ply and the concrete subfloor. I have a few questions, is there a nail/fastner available that can be used with a 18 gauge air gun to fasten down the ply wood to the sub or do I have to go about and track down a 22 cal nail gun for this type of application, also would an adhesive do just as well in securing the ply to the sub? I live in in hot and humid Houston!!! Thanks for any help in this matter::confused:

the bruce hardwood web site gives you exact specs for doing this. i'm assuming this is an above grade application. 3/4" solid strip is not reccomended below grade .http://www.armstrong.com/resbrucewoodna/installation_tips_solid.jsp

You can go to www.installingwoodfloors.com for installation instructions from the National Oak Flooring Manufacturer's Association (NOFMA) technical handbook.
