I am attempting to replace a corroded shower faucet. The faucet came off easily but upon inspection I found out that the pipe is not threaded and the faucet was sealed inside by a thick rubber gasket. I purchased a tub spout with a slip connection and a set screw. The gasket is a very thin rubber ring and the faucet leaks around it. Does anyone have any advise to correct this?
