I have only one zone in my townhouse. I am finishing the basement and want to install dampers in the vent. I was thinking of electronic dampers with and have a separate thermostat. What do I have to do?

assuming you have 2 independant trunk lines to these zones, put the damper as close to the source as possible. you must be sure that if one is closed and the other open that there is sufficient airflow, or you will feeeze up, trip safetys, etc. have even had to put in a bypass to keep airflow up. not typically a diy project.
