We are renovating/redoing our entire house and the insulation questions arose:
1- Do we need any special insulation for the bathrooms? Any moisture extra-resistant insulation?
2- What kind of insulation is appropriate to reduce noise between rooms?

Hi

no special insulation in a bathroom.. the key is your visquine or moisture barrier... id use unfaced insulation and use 6 mil poly sheeting and be sure to tape seams and around outlets .. you can get plastic "cup" type surrounds to which you tape your moisture barrier for use around outlets.. never used them but have seen.. look very nifty..
Also you can get "green" drywall that is moisture resistant for bathrooms...

R -13 is the best for sound control ...also caulk around outlets and bottom floor.. offset outlets within cavities... lots of soundproofing things to do...

Hope this helps---Josh
