We're building a new home, and though we had the lower floor sheetrocked and textured by a professional, we're wanting to attempt to do the upstairs ourselves. It's a log home, and really not much sheet rock to be done. We've already hung the board, and are now ready to tape and texture. We've done some homework on mesh vs. paper tape, but our question is: When using paper tape, do you have to moisten the tape, or just lay it over the mud then mud over it again?

Paper tape works better in corners. Fold it in a V for corner use.
You don't need to wet it. Just lay it in the bed of mud and mud it in.
Good luck!
