Thanks for all of the thoughts. We are wanting to put down a Cherry finish. We received a quote for "Lauzon - American Cherry" at $10 a SqFt with $2.25 Sqft labor installation. We were told Lauzon is the highest quality and hardest Canadian floor we can buy.

Can you give me a name of a hardwood floor that is very good, but half the price? We wont have a dog, so we don't necessarily need anything that is very hard and overly durable. Also, we will put down a lot of collorful area rugs.

is it a pre finished cherry flooring or unfinished??? in my area you can get unfinished cheery 3/4" x 3 in for $3.69 a sqft.
