I recently removed old layers of wallpaper (6!) and in doing so was unable to save some parts of the textured walls. Apparently, someone has done a poor job of retexturing and it is coming off in several places. Can it be repaired without re-doing the entire room so I can paint? If so, how? Thank-you. Kim

removing wall paper on texturized walls does remove a lot of the texture if you do not soften the glue enough. To fix, you need to match the texture. There are 100s of different textures, and each has a technique to fix.

If the texture is a simple knock-down, you can rent a hopper and air compresser to touch up. If the texture is one of many bumpy patterns, use joint compound and use a sponge to match (tap or press lightly).

If you have remove a lot of the texture, you will be best off texturizing over what you have. Fill the removed spaces first.
