Good evening, DEMETRA BROWN:

Yes, I have had extensive experience with Fedders Air Conditioners. Bought 28 of them to cool a building for the United States government. Had to send 20 of them back for new compressors. I am not impressed.

Go to Wally World and buy one of their cheap units. Chances are it is better than the Fedders you have and it will be a lot easier to dispose of when it dies.

The only brands I would stick with is american standard, Trane and liebert.
they are built to last!

Carrier is also suposto be good!

I know someone that had a carrier that lasted 18 years!

I have a coleman and I haven't ran into anything major yet, although it's 14 years old and the compressor is going.

You didn't say so but it sounds like you bought somebody's trouble in the form of a window unit. Now its got a freon leak. Fedders has seen it before.....dig a hole and bury it.

I haven't worked on some thing that small since I went to school
I usually use a portable unit to cool the customer down.
if I ever arrive to a unit being down call in the middle of the summer in the hot desert of Arizona I tell you they get a big cool aid smile when they feel that cool air hit them.

Then when I am done they are very satisfied with my service and they call back and specify for me to come out for preventative maintenance contracts.

I tell you I feel like I accomplish alot when my customers enjoy my service.

My motto Do it right the first time that way you dont redo it on your own time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LOL
