I have just finished taking down all the wall paper(dif),repairing crack and uneven spots with spackle but how do I get that textured appearance that the original wall has?

What was the original texture? Stipple? Stucco? You can purchase 'stipple-in-a-can' if need be, from someone that knows what they are talking about at a good paint or hardware store. It is applied with a special roller that looks something like a hair curler. We'd need to know more before going further.
