Here are some basic numbers...your mileage may vary of course...:D
1 gallon covers roughly 400 square feet (at a dry film thickness of about 2mils-millimetres)...25 millimetres=1 inch...divide that by about half for unpainted stucco...a bedroom that is 12 by 12 will require about 1 gallon for 1 coat of paint on all 4 walls...multiply the square footage of your house by 2.7 to determine wall square footage, divide by 400/feet/gallon to know gallons needed for the job...then add the ceiling area again to the equation...remembering that textured surfaces need about another 50-100 percent more paint to cover them...a door is roughly 3 by 7 feet (21 sq ft), a quart does 100 sq ft on one coat...always plan for two coats on your job, it will last longer and both the sheen and color will look better to you...primer can save your marriage, it will improve your miles per gallon in product but more importantly, create a uniform substrate so the paint sits nice and level upon it, thereby giving you a consistent sheen level and satisfactory depth of color on the wall. Hope this helps some. :)
