We are about to paint the outside (brick) of our house and have been told that we shouldn't paint until the temperature will stay above 50 degrees for 24 hours after painting. We have had rain for the past three weekends and now that we will be seeing the sun this weekend, there is a high of 64 degrees and a low of 41 degrees at night. Does anyone know if the temperature affects the paint and with a low of 41 degrees it would be ok to go ahead and paint?

It's tough to wait-out the weather, I know, but ideally, the minimum should be 50, not the 41. Many folk will risk it and have no trouble at all. My advice would be wait until the overnight is a touch warmer if it's not a race. The paint film dries better with less risk of it pulling away from the wall or trapping moisture beneath the film. It's borderline and you'd probably do just fine though. But when in doubt, wait a bit. :)
