I'm kind of pressed for time and doing my bathroom and need to install my toilet as soon as I complete the floor. This will probably cause a problem with the wall behind the tank area on the toilet which is about 1 inch away from the wall (that can be seen). aside from removing and reinstalling the toilet,
Does anyone know of any method for painting behind this confined area.?

You should be able to find a pad painter that's thin enough to fit back there. Check the paint section by the brushes and rollers. You may need to fashion a handle for enough reach.

pad painters are good. there are some very small diameter rollers for sale. unless your toilet is a one-piece you should be able to remove the tank without disturbing the bowl.

the roller is called a WHIZZ roller with a 24" handle you need about 7/8 " between the wall and tank
