Recently purchased new home with marble shower. No grouting or sealents around the floor and wall corners. The floor is one solid piece as is each wall. Very fine joints, but probably do leak.

1) What should be done to seal these joints? It looks like a silicon based sealer was used on seal the glass door. Will that work on the floor/wall joints?

2) The flooring has NO slope towards the drain which is cut in the middle of the floor. It is a flat floor. Not perfectly level and the water tends to accumulate at one corner. This accentuates my concerns about leaking.

Are flat shower floors common?

Thank you for any thoughts/advise/commiserating.

Hi
That doesn't sound too promising....the floor should have been layed with a slope towards the drain. Is it marble also? The caulking will only work for a while, if you have water building up in the corners. Clean it and let it dry out completly before caulking. If you can't find a colour match for you marble, use clear silicone.
