we have decided to redo our kitchen cabinets,I first cleaned them with minwax furniture refinisher, then used 0000 steel wool,I then used a new minwax stain. The problem is the stain is not drying,it seems to be tacky, even after 24 hours. What happened?:(

tddevits,
Well, after you cleaned the cabinets, the steel wool only slightly scratched the surface which was probably lacquer.
It may have been a varnish. But either way, a new stain has to be applied to bare wood and be absorbed. Your stain is oil-base so you should be able to wipe it off with mineral spirits.
The wood will have to either stripped or sanded down to remove all the finish.
