What can I do to refinish laminate-covered bedroom furniture? Is it possible to paint? If so, what steps do I need to take to complete the task successfully?

Any comments/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Laminate finish can be painted. Sand the entire piece thoroughly. You need to 'rough it up' in oreder for the new finish to have something to hang on.

Prime - I would use either BIN or KILZ. They're both good products.

Sand lightly to remove any brush marks, nubbies, etc., then paint. I would suggest a semi-gloss (for the tops at least) becasue it wear better and cleans more easily.
