Hello all...
I'm drawing up plans to install a laminate floor (Armstrong Swiftlock) in my living room. I'll be using new trim/baseboards all the way around, but what do I do around the fireplace? I plan on using some kind of quarter round trim, but how should this be attached to the natural brick? Would some kind of glue be best?
Thanks!
James

There are several solutions. You can fasten your 1/4 round with liquid nails to the flooring at the fireplace, you can use the same and fasten to the fireplace but removal of the adhesive residue later could be a problem. You can use an edge molding of laminate, hardwood or metal. The edge moldings allow for an expansion gap. The hardwood moldings can be stained and finished to match, the metal are available in only 3 colors but may offer the solution in this application.
