Flooring Tile - What is margin of error for floor level?

We are installing 12x12 marble tiles on a concrete slab. After pouring self-leveling underlayment, there are still some very slight dips and rises. When we laid the tiles out in a dry run, there is some tipping to some of them. How much of this is acceptable, absorbed by the thickness of the mastik?:confused:

It's almost impossible to say without seeing the floor...but for marble... (which is not easy to lay if you are a beginner)..the floor should be as flat as possible. You will get some relief from the thin set you use(and it is thin set...do not use mastic)...but you'll get a better idea once you get started.

First off I would reccomend using thinset instead of mastic. As you have discovered a flat floor is very importaint with larger tiles. If your floor is not perfectly flat I would reccomend using a larger trowel, something like 3/8". and a 6' level to keep all the tiles on the same plane.
