We have some woodwork around windows that we are stripping. There is duct tape on there. It appears to have been there for some time. It will not leave the window frame when we use the stripping compound. What would be a good way to get it off before we go on with the stripping process?? Thanks-Pat

On something that has been in place ofr some time, I'd use a paint scraper. Once you get the tape itself off, the adhesive can be removed with paint thinner and steel wool, assuming the stripper won't cut through it.

I will try that, but scraping at it today didn't do anything other than tiny tiny pieces that I couldn't even pick at with my nails. This duck tape has been there a long time. I will let you know how it goes. Thanks-Pat :):)

You might try a product called Goof Off (I think that's what it's called). I used it to remove labels and also dried latex paint from woodwork. It takes a little bit of scrubbing but seems to soften most foreign substances for easier removal

Thanks Norm. I know the stuff. I think it is called Goop Off?? I happen to have some :) Between you two and your suggestions if I can't get this tape off I will just have to tear off that woodwork and burn it :):) Thank you :):) Pat
