I have many pieces of particle board furniture with (I believe)veneer applied and I would like to change the color. How would I go about this and how would stain adhere to this type of wood?Could I sand it down to bare wood and then stain from there? Any assistance is appreciated. Thank you.

Kinsan,
Most of the veneering on inexpensive particle board is a melamine type plastic coating. You cannot change the color of the stain. However , there is a paint which can be applied to melamine surfaces.
