I have a 4 year old 27" sony, I'm not sure right now what model it is. The other day some water was spilt into the back while the set was off. Now it won't turn on. I looked at the circuit boards for any obvious damage. A panel on what I would consider the "tube" on the back of the screen had a few resistors that had scorched teminals and there was some corrision on the board itself.
I was wondering if the extent of the damage would lie entirely in the one circuit board and if so how difficult and expensive it would be to repalce by myself.

Well, we all know that water and electronics don't mix well. As for the board, I would imagine it wouldn't be too great a task to replace it. And perhaps not too expensive.
I'd recommend you get a repair manual on the unit so you have some idea what you are replacing and how it is connected in the circuit. Two places are available for the repair manuals:
http://www.samswebsite.com/
http://www.treasurechestcorp.com/Default.htm
Second thing is a source of parts. I recommend
Union Electronics at http://www.unionel.com
