I'm preparing to install my first (and likely only) laminated floor in my 12' x 12' kitchen. I need a little help. I surfed, studied, researched, and read my ... well, you know what, off. I need a few answers. NOTE: I've been all over to www.doityourself.com/laminate and www.azfred.com for helpful tips. Please don't refer me there! The laminated tiles I'm installing are Formica's Ceramix warm White. They're 23.8 inches square, and require glue.
Questions:
1) What type of saw do I cut the tiles with?
2) What type of blades to above saw do I cut with?
3) Is the glue applied right out of the purchased glue containers, or do I need some sort of glue gun to dispense the 1/8" bead?
4) My kitchen currently has a mannington vinyl floor on top of some old vinyl floor (old = 14 years old) on top of 1/4" luan (I thin) which is on top of 3/4" particle board panels. I plan on ripping up the 2 vinyl floors and the luan, and installing 1/4" plywood subfloor. Is that cool? Does it sound like I'm asking for trouble?
5) Should I buy the extra tiles and continue the floor under my dish washer, refridgerator, and oven/stove? Why (or why not)?
6) Anything else I should know?
