I have a 25 yr old oak/vaneer inlay set that I would like to try and strip and repaint. I had seen a set in a magazine (BHG) that was painted the color & texture of wedgewood blue.
My question? Is it feasible to strip it, prime and paint or just sand it, binn it and repaint?

Stripping compounds can lift the veneer; I was successful with denatured alcohol and very fine steel wool when removing nasty scratched old varnish from a buffet. I ended with an oil finish on the piece, not paint.

As mentioned above, stripping presents a hazard. In your case, it's not necessary. Sand, Prime, and paint.
