Since I'm renting an installation kit, I need to know how long of a job this is. I'm installing a laminate floating floor (the glue-together type). The room is 12' X 20', I have an "average" amount of do-it-myself experience, I'm using a skill saw for the cuts, and the room is a perfect rectangle, with no difficult doorway cuts to do.

After I've laid the polythene and foam, how long will it take to cut, glue, and clamp this much flooring? Guesses? Thanks in advance.

Go to www.doityourself.com/laminate and www.azfred.com for helpful installation tips. I don't think anyone can accurately estimate the time of a DIY project as there are too many variables involved.

I'd think you'll be able to get the project done in about 3 days.

3 days???? I am 15 years old and i did my kitchen flooring all by myself using pergo laminate flooring the glue type in just about 6 hours. and just clamp it down and don't constantly step on it before it is completely dry.

Figure a day but allow two. We cannot know for sure what "average" is in terms of skill and certainly don't know about "worry time" that will be employed. Measure twice, cut once and stay off the floor for 24 hours so the glue can cure. If you allow a glue haze to set you may never get rid of it. Cleaning time will take much longer than you expect if done effectively.
