I just scratched around the soil in my 10 gal fig tree container and found several small white pods. At first I thought they were packing material things. After squeezing one I thought it felt like a minature marshmallo, squishy and about the same size. I cut one open and it seemed more like some sort of egg. I re-potted this fig into a larger container about 2 months ago and the soil I used, from my old bell pepper garden, DID NOT have any "pods" and I took several pictures and have them as .jpg if anyone wants to see them. Nobody has an answer so far.

Most reptile eggs are white, oval, and leathery feeling. If this describes your "pods", then they are likely from a snake or lizard. Don't worry, rattlesnakes give live birth...no eggs. (or at least eastern diamondbacks do...thats what we have over here in GA.)

If they've been removed for a period of time, they probably won't live. If you want them to hatch, bury them under 1 to 2 inches of peat moss and keep them damp and warm.
