I hope someone out there can help do this properly.. I live up in Canada and I would like to grow a peach tree in my house. I have gathered a couple of seeds and am not sure if I have to crack the outer nut or not since the seed is inside. If I do manage to start growing this tree do you think it will grow fruit? I hope someone out there can give me some advice on this matter.

Hello Billham
The kids used to just toss the entire pit into the beds and they'd start up on their own (not really sure how many were 'planted vs. how many germinated... ) - it would probably help if you buried the whole pits of ones you want to start intentionally a few cm into the ground...
After the trees had started, it took between 5 and 7 years to start seeing blossoms and fruit
Good Luck

If you are doing this because you are interested in the whole process (from seed to fruit) than go ahead and have fun... it might be really interesting, but if your target is to have a productive tree then I don't think this is the ideal approach.
Nowadays you can buy amature fruit trees from nurseries at very cheap prices.
