I plan to have this professionally serviced, but I want some advice/ knowledge as to the cause so I don't get taken to the bank. With that said:

I have a Sony 42 inch projection TV. When it is first turned on, the screen stays black and buzzes. Usually for 1/2 hour. Then it works great all day.

What do you think?

Well, as usual, you didn't give me a model number or a model year to use as reference.

Remember, you can see the set and I cannot. My only contact with you is a 1.8 Gig Dell computer with a 19" monitor.

So, take a deep breath, give me all the data you have: make, model, year of manufacture. Let us do the best we can to help you.
