i have a projection from toshiba, model # TP4881A
it does not power on at all. i get no pic and no sound...

First, let's make sure it is dead and not just shut down from a power surge.
Have you tried unplugging the unit and leaving it unplugged for 30 minutes to an hour? If the set shut itself down from a surge, it has to be unplugged to reset itself.

Next thing is to open it up and check for blown fuses. It may have taken a power surge on the household AC line and popped a fuse.
We're talking about getting inside the unit now and doing some troubleshooting of the problem. If you are not adept at this sort of thing, it would be safer to call the technicians.
