I own a 53" Sony big screen, which is about 5 years old. Recently the picture does not work, but there is still sound. Does anyone know what it could be? I am hoping it is a minor problem, but I am thinking differently. Any Suggestions???

Good Morning, MinnesotaBob:
When you say "Picture does not work", explain how it is not working. Black screen? Fuzzy picture? White screen with no picture?
Give me a model number off the set, also.
Remember, you can see the problem and I'm just a guy in Tennessee sitting at a computer with a 19" monitor. My only information is what you provide.

Smokey,
Sorry for the lack of info., but I am currently at work and don't have the serial or model # in front of me. The problem is that the screen is completely black and you can just hear sound. It will change channels, but the screen still remains in the black state. I will find out the serial and model #'s tonight, if that would help.
Thanks,
MinnesotaBob

Any information will help and we are here to do the best we can to give you an assist. I will look for your post later on tonight.
Just the model number and year of manufacture is sufficient for me.

The Model # is KPR53EX35 I hope this helps. It would be great to have it up and running again.

Good Afternoon, MinnesotaBob:
My! It seems that this set was not one of Sony's finest hours.
My counterparts indicate:
Check the convergence board for blown fuses or multiple broken solder connections, if the fuse(s) are blown you will have to replace them AND both STK`s on the convergence board, use SONY original parts or it will fail again.
This set had convergence problems to the point of actual picture shut down. And, don't throw rocks! I'm just the messenger and I don't make these things up.
