I have two windows in my living room and I want to put 2" blinds on them. Problem is, my trim is off white, my walls are cocoa, and my floor is stained very dark. So I thought it might look nice to use stained wood blinds rather than plain white ones. Some of my friends disagree. What do you guys think?

If your walls are darker and your floor is dark, but your trim is off white, then your blinds could match your trim. This would make the room look a bit bigger and also lighten things up a bit. Maybe see what off white would look like.

Jenny is right on the size and brightness for the room.also with the cost of this treatment and the way styles change the off white will match with anything coming in the future

I assume you're talking about a Roll-Up Shade (thin wood strips held together with threads). If so buy one and paint it black.

Johnam is absolutely right! Find the ones that are the size you need and the style you want and paint them. Spray paint can do wonders.

In this day and age, instead of having to choose between one or the other on color, you should probably go with the stained woods and select woods, you can get a wonderful wood 2" blind that blends different shades together and look wonderful! (Cherry is my favorite) Hunter Douglas has a great line of these available. check out: http://www.ambrosiawindowfashions.com you'll see what I mean. There's a phone number listed to reach live people too! Good Luck!
