Hey guys, I had went to this tv repair shop the other day looking for a resistor and this guy was working on a tv and he hooked somthing to it , a vcr or what i don't know but it was scaning every part of the inside of the tv telling him what was wrong and what was'nt do any of you guys know what he using and let me know

No such a device! There are some handheld Oscilloscopes etc. man I wish there was huh guys? If you could get a device that I could plug in and tell me what’s wrong I would be a millionaire. :)

Let me edit this a little, there are devices out there to do something like you mention. It looks for error codes, false this or open that but to come up and say well R1 in the IF section of the unit is defective, no such animal… You see this mostly in the automotive arena.
