My TV suddenly went off and not showing anything. I could not even turn on the power. When I try to turn the power on, the power on light come to live for a second and goes off. I have no clue what is happening. Can anyone help me out to identify the problem so that I can decide on the repairs.

Good Morning, Rajc:

It sounds as though you have a problem in the low voltage power supply. Knowing the brand, I would imagine that there is a shorted diode in the rectifier stages.

When you turn on the set, the overload circuit is activating. Hence, the light comes on for a brief period, the overload circuit cuts in, and shuts down the set totally.

That is where I recommend you make your first check.

In your case, the information in Chapter 22 will apply.
